Guides & How to's
How do I know what material to order?
Choosing the right material for your packaging may feel difficult, but AAA Pak is here to guide you.
During your consultation, our experienced Product Specialists will work with you to recommend the most suitable material for your packaging requirements, even if you have already selected a preferred option during your quote request.
Their expertise ensures that your packaging provides the ideal balance of quality, durability, and presentation for your product.
How do I determine what size box I need?
To choose the right box size, start by measuring your product: length (left to right), width (front to back), and depth (bottom to top).
Then, add a small allowance of 1/8″ to 1/4″ to each dimension to ensure your product fits comfortably and has a little extra room for protection. This simple step helps ensure a perfect fit while maintaining the integrity of your packaging.
What are the artwork submission requirements?
To achieve the best printing results, all artwork should follow AAA Pak’s submission guidelines:
- Artwork must be in CMYK color mode with a 1/8″ bleed.
- All fonts should be outlined to prevent replacement by default system fonts.
- All links must be embedded within the artwork.
- Images should be at least 300 ppi to ensure high-quality printing.
Important: AAA Pak does not modify or correct customer-submitted artwork. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure all guidelines are followed. Choosing to proceed without adhering to these requirements is done at your own risk.
How should packaging dimensions be measured?
The method for measuring packaging dimensions depends on the type of packaging you’ve ordered, but all measurements are based on Length, Width, and Depth.
Rigid & Corrugated Packaging:
Because these types are made from thicker materials, it’s best to use internal dimensions. This ensures there is enough space for your products to fit perfectly.
Folding Cartons & Other Packaging:
For thinner materials, such as folding cartons or paper bags, external dimensions are usually sufficient. However, since the industry standard is to use internal dimensions, it’s recommended to stick with internal measurements to avoid potential issues.
If you need assistance obtaining accurate measurements, your designated Product Specialist can provide additional guidance and support.
How do I place my artwork on the dieline you provided?
To accurately place your artwork on the provided dieline, we recommend following our comprehensive Artwork & Design Guidelines.
If you need additional support after reviewing the guidelines, you can reach out to your designated Product Specialist for further assistance and guidance to ensure your artwork is properly aligned.
How do I prepare my files for print?
Once you receive your custom dieline, it’s important to follow specific guidelines and recommendations to ensure your packaging prints crisp, clean, and perfectly aligned.
Not adhering to these guidelines may result in misprints, which can cause production delays and additional costs.

Note: Our pre-press team is available to guide you if additional support is needed. However, it’s essential that all artwork is correct before final approval, as AAA Pak is not liable for production errors after you approve the final artwork.
Why should I avoid using small elements in my design?
In CMYK printing, colors are applied separately, which can cause very small elements to appear blurred or out of focus.
To achieve the best results, it’s recommended to use larger design elements. Additionally, the minimum text height should be 8 points to ensure it remains legible after printing.
